AuctionX ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website at auctionx.app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We've written this in plain English — no walls of legalese.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account and play AuctionX, we collect:
- Account data — your email address and chosen username
- Gameplay data — auction rooms you join, bids you place, players you acquire, and your fantasy points and leaderboard position
- Support messages — if you submit a support ticket, we store your subject, category, and message text
- Analytics events — anonymised usage data (which features you use, page interactions) via Firebase Analytics
- Verification data — a one-time passcode (OTP) temporarily stored to verify your email address
We do not collect payment information, real identity documents, or location data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and authenticate your account
- To run the auction game — displaying your username, bids, and squad to other players in the same room
- To maintain the global leaderboard (your username and fantasy points are publicly visible)
- To respond to support tickets
- To send transactional emails (OTP verification, password reset) — no marketing emails
- To understand how the app is used and improve it
3. Data Visibility
AuctionX is a multiplayer game. Be aware that:
- Your username, bids, and squad are visible to all players in the same auction room
- Your username and fantasy points appear on the global leaderboard, which is visible to all logged-in users
- Support ticket content is visible to AuctionX admins only
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google / Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Brevo (Sendinblue) — sends OTP and password reset emails. Your email address is shared with Brevo for this purpose only.
- Google AdSense — when ads are active, Google may use cookies and tracking technologies to serve personalised ads. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
- Cloudflare Workers — used as an email proxy. No personal data is stored by Cloudflare in this context.
- GitHub Pages — static file hosting. No personal data is processed by GitHub in serving the app.
5. Cookies
Firebase Analytics uses cookies to track anonymised usage. No other cookies are set by AuctionX directly. When Google AdSense is active, additional advertising cookies may be set by Google. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists. Support ticket data is retained for 12 months. Analytics data is retained as per Google's standard retention policies.
7. Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To do so, submit a support ticket in the app or email us at support@auctionx.app. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
AuctionX is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of AuctionX after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
